The Pursuit of Seeing
The Pursuit of Seeing departs from the desire to expand upon a way of seeing; it is about the act of approaching the world with a sense of investigation, yet relies on the idea of discovery. This body of work acts as an archive of passing moments, but also questions societies interpretation of sensory information. We identify our understanding of an environment based on what we see, but what happens when we begin to look down instead of forward; what do we see when we look closer? This project does not function based on answers, instead it avoids them; it acts solely as a means of prompting a thought process that one may not react to naturally. The Pursuit of Seeing is intended to expand on what it is we see, to question how and why we see the way we do, and to showcase some of the everyday discoveries that we may miss.
